I’m Benjamine, and in this photograph, it’s me as a child, dreamy and carefree.
Here, I wanted to sketch a more intimate portrait of myself.

I love chicory, Picasso’s Blue Acrobat, the dark and blond curls of my sons, the late-afternoon sun on the skin, Tinguely’s sculptures, the abstract and poetic beauty of Constantin Brancusi’s forms.
I love setting off on adventures with my camera, my third eye.
The drawing of a free woman, weightless, diving into the unknown, tattooed on my leg in tribute to my sister.

The whisper of the wind through foliage, standing before the ocean and losing myself in its shades of blue.
The feeling of freedom and near weightlessness while swimming in the sea.
The essence of life, the power, humanity, and humility that emanate from Sebastião Salgado’s photographs.
